The effect of real stone paint is not only reflected in its color; construction also plays a very important role in its final appearance on the wall. Different construction methods create different effects.
Everyone has different preferences: some like a smooth finish, some prefer a textured surface, and others favor a strong three-dimensional effect. Therefore, real stone paint manufacturers provide corresponding construction methods according to customer needs.
Real stone paint is generally applied by spraying. By using colored aggregates of different colors and particle sizes and adjusting the spraying sequence, a variety of natural stone-like decorative effects can be achieved.
The primer can be applied by roller coating to improve efficiency. Of course, when decorative texture and effect require it, common construction methods for stone-like coatings such as troweling can also be used.
Now that we know the various construction methods for real stone paint, to determine which method to use under different circumstances, we need to understand the characteristics of each method.
I. Spray Application of Real Stone Paint
Spraying real stone paint means using a special spray gun for real stone paint to create a coating with the texture and color of imitation marble or granite. The following points should be noted:
① Generally, two coats are sprayed. After the first coat is applied, allow it to dry for more than 4 hours before spraying the second coat.
② When spraying, hold the spray hopper vertically about 40 cm away from the wall; do not spray at an angle. The air output of the hopper must be uniform, with an air pressure between 0.5–0.7 MPa.
③ The real stone paint should be sprayed in a fish-scale arc or horizontal straight line to avoid vertical marks.
④ When applying the second coat, spray more paint on areas with poor coverage and less on well-covered areas to ensure a uniform overall coating thickness.
⑤ Before spraying real stone paint, make sure to mask off areas not to be painted, including internal and external corners.

II. Trowel Application of Real Stone Paint
The wall film formed by trowel-applied real stone paint is relatively smooth, delivering a realistic effect similar to finely polished natural stone. The product features strong cohesion, distinct granite-colored textures, and presents an antique and elegant appearance after troweling. The paint film offers excellent water resistance, alkali resistance, and moisture-proof performance. This construction method is suitable for decorative surfaces requiring strong artistic appeal.
III. Roller Application of Real Stone Paint
Real stone paint walls constructed with roller coating can create three-dimensional effects with different particle sizes and colors, such as bark-like or other strip/linear textures. It provides outstanding three-dimensionality, effectively covers wall defects, and results in high-strength, full-shaped, and uneven surfaces with excellent decorative performance and convenient construction.
