Stone-like paint is a thick exterior decorative coating that looks very similar to marble and granite. It is mainly made of natural stone powder in various colors and is mostly used to create stone-like finishes on building exterior walls, hence it is also known as liquid stone. Buildings decorated with stone-like paint feature natural and authentic colors, conveying an elegant, harmonious and dignified aesthetic. It is suitable for interior and exterior decoration of various buildings. Especially when applied to curved buildings, it achieves a vivid, realistic and natural effect. Today, stone-like paint manufacturer Runli New Material will talk in detail about the process technology of stone-like paint.

Stone-like Paint Process Technology
1. Brick-pattern Real Stone Paint
First design the brick dimensions as required, then apply brick-simulating tape to the base-coated wall to form a brick pattern. Spray real stone paint, and peel off the tape before the paint surface dries.
2. Vertical Surface Spraying
Use the circular spraying method at a distance of 30–40 cm, moving the spray gun horizontally in circles with a radius of about 15 cm, shaking the gun up and down occasionally. This ensures fast, even and controllable application. Overlapping row-by-row spraying is slow and tends to cause unevenness at joints, affecting appearance and causing coating defects.
3. Round Roman Column Spraying
Due to its cylindrical shape, use M-line spraying at a slightly longer distance of about 40 cm. Keep the spray gun perpendicular to the column surface, spraying from top to bottom. Finish one side before turning to the next, with a turning angle of about 60 degrees.
4. Square Column Spraying
Square columns have sharp edges, which can easily become blurred from uneven spraying. For easier application, spray edges from about 50 cm away. The longer distance disperses the spray mist, covering a larger area evenly. Spraying too closely may cause uneven thickness, hiding edges and ruining the building’s overall appearance.
5. Small Cylindrical Baluster Spraying
Modern buildings often use small cylindrical balusters as rail decorations, most requiring real stone paint. Due to their small size and decorative function, more delicate spraying techniques are required.
These rail balusters are closely arranged, and some areas cannot be sprayed head-on with conventional methods. Use a small nozzle at a distance of about 40 cm, spraying quickly and dispersedly from top to bottom. For unreachable areas, shake the spray gun to cover surrounding surfaces, then level with a brush. Touch up any missed spots lightly with a brush and spray dispersedly again. The coating should not be too thin (insufficient protection) or too thick (covering lines and possibly causing cracking).
